Activities & Events

At Harrison Senior Living, Arts and Entertainment events are an integral part of residents’ care. Our dedicated and energetic professionals know that a structured day provides residents with a sense of accomplishment and value. Our programs are designed to promote physical and emotional wellness and encourage social interaction.

Our Men’s Group is one of a kind. Getting together means shooting pool in our Billiards Room, testing each other’s knowledge of baseball trivia, and reminiscing about classic cars. Every month activities are centered around a special theme that keeps our men in mind. Men’s Group special events have included a “Harrison Senior Living Grand Prix” where Matchbox cars were raced down a custom track, a trip to a toy train museum, and a tour of Cabela’s sporting goods store. We understand that men may have a harder time feeling comfortable at activities or bonding with others in a new place but we think the Men’s Group is a great way to get involved, meet new friends, and, most importantly, have fun.

This high quality arts and entertainment program is directed by Geri Runk who recently became a Qualified Activity Director in the state of Pennsylvania. Geri completed a 90 hour instructional program and a 90 hour practicum on creating a person centered program which addresses the five cycle social needs of individuals: physical, intellectual, spiritual, emotional and social. Geri excelled in this coursework receiving a grade of 100% on all homework assignments! The mother of five, grandmother of three, Geri is a native of Delaware County. She and her husband Kevin reside in Cochranville with their seven year old son and they are active in Coatesville Bible Fellowship. Congratulations, Geri!

During the dark, dreary months of winter, here’s a reminder of the happy days of summer. Each year Harrison House of Coatesville hosts a cook-out for residents and their families. Great food, musical entertainment, a clown and the company of family and friends make this the most popular event of the year.
