Activities & Events
Our independent apartment residents have the best of both worlds: the freedom to maintain their normal routines and the opportunity to add some organized fun to their lives. There is something new and exciting happening every day in our Arts and Entertainment Department.
Residents can select which special activities to attend from our monthly Activity Calendar [view PDF] which include live entertainment, lunch and shopping trips, crafts, films, spa treatments, Wii bowling, cooking demonstrations, and so much more! There are always favorite activities such as exercise sessions, coffee socials, puzzles, trivia, card games, and, of course, Bingo! These calendars and events are created with the collaboration of our experienced Activity Staff and suggestions and ideas presented by residents at our monthly meetings. Every Friday afternoon we hold a Happy Hour featuring delicious handcrafted hors d’oeuvres. Residents love to come and chat with friends while sipping glasses of wine or punch.
In addition to our daily events, residents can choose to participate in activities held by our new group”Seniors on the Go!” that takes exciting longer trips such as museum tours, musical theatre shows, and restaurant outings. Evening activities such as educational lectures, picnics, and social gatherings light up our Seniors’ nights.
The Men’s Group is one of a kind. Getting together means shooting pool in our Billiards Room, testing each other’s knowledge of baseball trivia, and reminiscing about classic cars. Every month activities are centered around a special theme that keeps our men in mind. Men’s Group special events have included a “Harrison Senior Living Grand Prix” where Matchbox cars were raced down a custom track, a trip to a local baseball game, a tour of Cabela’s sporting goods store, and a trip to a toy train museum. We understand that men may have a more difficult time feeling comfortable at activities or bonding with others in a new place but the Men’s Group is a great way to get involved, meet new friends, and, most importantly, have fun.
Our independent residents have the ability to choose how many or how few activities they wish to attend. We promise you that there is never a dull moment at Harrison Senior Living!
