Activities & Events

At Harrison Senior Living, Arts and Entertainment events are an integral part of residents’ care.  Our dedicated and energetic professionals know that a structured day provides residents with a sense of accomplishment and value.  Our programs are designed to promote physical and emotional wellness and encourage social interaction.  The programs enhance skills, talents and interests.

There is something for everyone.  Click here to see the schedule of activities held daily in our Auditorium (view PDF).  For residents with cognitive impairments our professionals adapt the activities to better meet individual needs. The residents and staff of Harrison House of Christiana know that Christmas has come when the Amish children arrive for their annual carol sing. After the concert, the children, their teachers and parents are guests for refreshments. They may have books in their hands; but, these precious children know all the songs and all the verses by heart! Their visit brings happiness to our residents during this special time of year.

Michael Koehler, a board certified music therapist, is now leading the Activities Department at Christiana.  Michael received his undergraduate degree in music performance from Kutztown University and his Master’s Degree from Drexel University. An adjunct faculty member and clinical supervisor at Marywood University, Michael has worked with children as young as two and seniors who are in their 90s.  He and his wife are the parents of a daughter. In his spare time Michael enjoys playing original and standard jazz compositions on the guitar. We welcome Michael and look forward to hearing beautiful sounds from this newest member of the Harrison Senior Living family!
