Activities & Events

At Harrison Senior Living, Activities and Events are an integral part of residents’ care. Our dedicated and energetic professionals know that a structured day provides residents with a sense of accomplishment and value. We offer a broad range of activities which provide opportunity for entertainment, exercise and relaxation.

There is something for everyone. Click here to see the wonderful variety of arts and entertainment events for the residents of Cypress Hall (view PDF).

For residents with cognitive impairments, our professional caregivers adapt activities and the environment to better meet individual needs. They design activities that build on remaining skills and talents. Click here to view the many fun activities specially planned for the residents of Federal Hall (view PDF).

At Harrison Senior Living, we pride ourselves on designing activities that meet the social, spiritual, recreational, emotional and intellectual needs of our residents.

We are delighted that the residents are benefitting from the professional knowledge of Vera McGee, our new Director of Activities.  Vera brings 8 years of experience in this field as well as certification nationally and in the state of Delaware.  A native of Onley, Virginia, and a resident of Delmar, Delaware, Vera has two sons and loves to spend time with her family, working on the computer and taking walks. Welcome to the Harrison Senior Living family, Vera!

Congratulations to former Director of Human Resources and Medical Records Sharon Dougherty who has been accepted by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators as an Administrator in Training.  Sharon has begun her year-long program under the guidance of Preceptor Margaret Miller who is currently Snow Hill’s Administrator.  During the coming year Sharon will spend a prescribed period of time in each of the nine departments of our facility. At the conclusion of the internship she must pass state and federal licensing exams.  Mrs. Miller approached Sharon with the idea of pursuing her nursing home administrator’s license and we were glad when Sharon agreed and was accepted in the program. Good luck, Sharon!
